K101 Malfunction/Looking for Replacement Parts/Can you fry a Kick?

i recently ran into a problem with my girlfriend’s k101. i will try to summarize my question below, with more details following.

where can i find a replacement part for the top cap/510 connection for the k101? and if i put an evolv kick in a mod, and it shorts, will it fry the kick?

i was trying to test the voltage of her battery (in mod) with my omnitester. i screwed it on, nothing out of the ordinary. i switched it to voltage, pressed the fire button, and it gave my a blank readout. i fired it twice more, still nothing. then the button became extremely hot, so hot that i had to quickly get an oven mitt to take the mod apart, fearing that the batty was venting. the battery was also extremely hot. i let everything sit outside for about 20 minutes, let it cool down. then i put my battery in her mod, and the same thing happened, except that the fire button jammed so that it continued firing. so i figure it’s not the batteries, it’s the mod. i read a thread that said it was a shorting 510 connection. so i searched for replacement parts, and i couldn’t find any. i recommended to her that if we fixed it, that she should put a kick in her device. she asked if the same thing happened with the k101, with the shorting problem, would it ruin the kick. so i’m naturally a little weary about buying a kick for her if it will fry within the next month.

Kayfun Chimeny Coil done.

Built a chimney coil for the Kayfun Lite plus v2. Coil is directly on the air hole, and vape comes directly up the chimney. Hits hard and flavor insane if done right, some juices don’t like it as much and its tricky to wick. Have to wick around it vs. inside the coil. Anyhow was bored figured I’d show my kinda decent Kayfun chimney coil build pics. 28g at 1.4ohmz

Ultra subohmed Irie Nights ejuice by Standard Jamaican Rum with brown sugar

<a href="http://www.ecigjuicereview.com/2014/01/irie-nights-ejuice-by-standard-jamaican.html” target=”_blank” rel=”nofollow”>First review of this ejuice here.

I used the <a href="http://www.ecigjuicereview.com/2014/01/fasttech-omega-clone-ecig-rba.html” target=”_blank” rel=”nofollow”>omega clone and a<a href="http://www.ecigjuicereview.com/2014/06/duke-50-watt-vv-ecig-with-plastic-510.html” target=”_blank” rel=”nofollow”> Duke for this review for everything but the highest wattage and lowest 2 wattages. For the highest wattage I used a <a href="http://www.ecigjuicereview.com/2013/10/ecig-with-carbon-fiber-wrap-reo-grand.html” target=”_blank” rel=”nofollow”>Reo Grand with a bottom feeding Divo by vicious ant atomizer wrapped at .2. For the lowest 2 wattages<a href="http://www.ecigjuicereview.com/2013/12/vamo-v5-best-vw-ecig-vaporizer-you-can.html” target=”_blank” rel=”nofollow”> I used a vamo v5 with the <a href="http://www.ecigjuicereview.com/2014/01/fasttech-omega-clone-ecig-rba.html” target=”_blank” rel=”nofollow”>omega clone. I have tried this juice dozens of times but I do not own this ejuice it is not as comprehensive review as many of the reviews I posted in <a href="http://www.ecigjuicereview.com/p/juices-i-have-reviewed.html” target=”_blank” rel=”nofollow”>the juices I have reviewed. I got this juice as the <a href="http://www.ecigjuicereview.com/2014/06/south-bay-vape-meet-at-on-rocks-june-8th.html” target=”_blank” rel=”nofollow”>South Bay vapor meet. I was vaping it the last couple of nights on <a href="http://www.ecigjuicereview.com/2013/10/ecig-with-carbon-fiber-wrap-reo-grand.html” target=”_blank” rel=”nofollow”>my Reo Grand and I was shocked how much different it was and enjoyable. <a href="http://www.ecigjuicereview.com/p/current-favorite-juices.html” target=”_blank” rel=”nofollow”>I am going to add this juice to my current favorites but put in () for ultra high wattage vapors. <a href="http://www.ecigjuicereview.com/p/vapor-production-key-and-how-i-rate-e.html” target=”_blank” rel=”nofollow”>Click here for a vapor production key and how I rate ejuices.

I think this juice shines when it is ultra subohmed. The alky (an alcoholic) taste which is not my favorite aspect of this ejuice totally went away on sub ohming on <a href="http://www.ecigjuicereview.com/2013/10/ecig-with-carbon-fiber-wrap-reo-grand.html” target=”_blank” rel=”nofollow”>Reo Grand. I think this juice is great with around a .2 ohm coil on a mechanical mod. I even tried it with a lower ohm coil but It is way better than <a href="http://www.ecigjuicereview.com/2011/10/jamaican-rum-vaporbomb.html” target=”_blank” rel=”nofollow”>Vapor Bombs version of Jamaican Rum. If you want a good rum then try it. It is an interesting flavor that is surprisingly complex and clean. At high wattages like <a href="http://www.ecigjuicereview.com/2014/01/dead-mans-party-ejuice-by-standard-for.html” target=”_blank” rel=”nofollow”>Standard’s Dead Mans Party this ejuice is on of my<a href="http://www.ecigjuicereview.com/p/current-favorite-juices.html” target=”_blank” rel=”nofollow”> current favorites. <a href="http://www.ecigjuicereview.com/2014/03/the-standard-ejuice-collection-case.html” target=”_blank” rel=”nofollow”>I won most of the flavors the Standard produces and got the rest from the Standards truck that visited the <a href="http://www.ecigjuicereview.com/2014/06/south-bay-vape-meet-at-on-rocks-june-8th.html” target=”_blank” rel=”nofollow”>South Bay vapor meet. Some are just okay and some are great. Will post the reviews of all of them soon. So far I have reviewed <a href="http://www.ecigjuicereview.com/2014/01/dead-mans-party-ejuice-by-standard-for.html” target=”_blank” rel=”nofollow”>Standard’s Dead Mans Party and gave a quick look at <a href="http://www.ecigjuicereview.com/2013/11/page-6-ejuice-from-blueprint-vapor.html” target=”_blank” rel=”nofollow”>Page 6 more reviews will come in the near future hopefully.
